Since our kiddos are still so young, we were able to postpone "Christmas Day" for a few days until we got home and it worked out well! We spent a fun family day getting ready for Jesus' Birthday and had a great time doing our own little family traditions. We decorated, opened our new Christmas jammies, baked cupcakes for the party and even left one out for Santa...we figured he needed to celebrate Jesus' birthday too. Oh, and the reindeer got some yummy carrots.
The next morning, our girlies awoke to a super fun birthday bash, stockings from Santa and gifts from us and each other. The dollhouse was a total hit for both of them, but the basketball goal...not so much. The one boy in our house had a lot of fun with it though ;). They got each other books this year and those might have been some of the favorites. Maybe even better than Hayden's stocking forks...poor kid, but she loves them. Oh, and Em's piglet of course. It's the single ONLY thing she asked for!On to the Birthday Party!! We read the Christmas story once more, daddy made pancakes, eggs and "bunny" milk and we celebrated with blowers, singing Happy Birthday and some yummy cupcakes. But the celebrating didn't end there. After a full day of playing together and talking about the sweet gift of our Savior, we finished our last day of the Jesse Tree...it was really special. (Em was SO sad when we took it down and keeps asking to do it everyday). I know that we all had a WONDERFUL Christmas season this year and that God blessed us with the story of His birth. Wonderful Christmas, wonderful memories!
For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
